Joomla CMS Training - What's included

  • 2 Day training for up to 10 delegates - with access to a desktop/laptop computer for training purposes
  • Agenda incorporates the following education modules:
    • Joomla Overview
    • Pre-requisites and co-requisite skills required
    • Introduction to and setup of the WAMP / LAMP Website development environment
    • The Joomla Back-end Administration environment
    • The Joomla Front-end User environment
    • Website Organisation
    • Sections, Categories, and Article Content publishing
    • Relationship between Menus and Content.
    • Alternate Section and Category layouts - Blog and List layouts explained
    • User Management
    • The Joomla extensions marketplace
    • Day One Practical Labs - as time allows interspersed throughout the agenda
    • Lab 1 - Download and Install the WAMP development environment on a local machine
    • Lab 2 - Download and Install an empty Joomla site on a local machine
    • Lab 3 - Create your first article and publish on the frontpage (home page)
    • Lab 4 - Setup Sections, and Categories to organise your sites content
    • Lab 5 - Add some dummy articles under selected section and category combination
    • Lab 6 - Create Menus, linking to various items of content as required
    • Day Two Practical Labs - as time allows interspersed throughout the agenda
    • Lab 7 - Add Search Module to "Search" position within the template
    • Lab 8 - Add Who's Online Module to "Right" position within the template
    • Lab 9 - Experiment with additional freely available Module extensions
    • Lab 10 - Install Backup extension to facilitate a safe backup of your work
    • Lab 11 - Publishing your Joomla website on the WWW
    • Lab 12 - Demo, using www.thejungleroom.co.uk
  • 1 day training class for up to 10 delegates - presentations, whiteboard, and instructor led demos.
